Hola! My name is Pam Warrington, and I teach ESL ( English as a Second Language ) to children in grades K – 5 in East Millsboro Elementary School. The ESL program is a "pull-out" program, with an alternating "team teaching" approach for mainstream classrooms having several second- language learners within one classroom.

Juyoun Park, a student in Mrs. Baker's class, won the Kindergarten division of the Susex County poster contest sponsored by the Del. Dept. of Agriculture.  She is the first Kindergarten student to become the State winner.  Her poster depicts trees as energy wise and has been published by the department.  An awards program was held April 20, 2005 and was attended by Gov. Minner and Agriculture Sec. Michael T. Scuse.  Juyoun won two $50.00 savings bonds and a holly tree.  The tree will be planted at East Millsboro Elementary in her honor.  Way to go, Juyoun!
1st grade ESL read a book all week about a little, brown dog - culminating with an end-of-the-week activity - Cookie Warrington came to visit!
Mrs. Warrington had a visit from three teachers from Japan along with Denise Speicher IREC on Wed., February 16, 2005

Our ESL children in the District speak Spanish, Creole, French, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, as well as a few dialects of the Mayan languages. They represent more than 14 different countries and ethnic backgrounds. They are remarkable children.

We are so pleased to have Miss Samantha Haas with us.
She is doing an internship this year.  Miss Haas is a senior at Sussex Tech and hopes to be an ESL teacher in the future.
She is a wonderful addition to our school!
